Actually we got a poster invitation which we refused. That was such an difficult time since we worked all days. However, I learned a lot, especially about character animation, also about the plusside and downside of research.</div><div><br /></div><div>After that exhausting period, following a tourist group, I traveled along the east coast of United States. That was a extreamly interesting journey, we went to Washington D.C., Corning's Glass Center, Hershey's Chocolate World, Niagara Falls, Boston, New York. Standing under the water falls, you would be so astonished by the nature, or maybe by the miracle from God. There were four of my friends together, and also several other people, including two Amanians, a Chinese family, and a older Scotland couple, joined our team, which made our trip more happier. The Amanian people learned Chinese so quickly and accurately, even Chinese songs!</div><div>I was about to update the blog when I got back from the travelling, since it was so amazing, and also several fiends asked me to share the experience. But there was a heart-broken fight between my girlfriend and me, so I was really not in that mood to write blogs.</div><div><br /></div><div>Last week was a long week. With my colleagues, I went to New Orleans to take part in two conferences : Symposium Computer Animation 2009 and Siggraph 2009. Siggraph 2009 was such a big conference I could never imagine. There were paper talks, exhibitions, job fairs, theaters, etc. The robot Quasi entertained everyone in the conference, and there must be two guys in that small monitoring room when I talked to Quasi. Why I'm saying this is because when I first talked to him he could only speak simply Chinese words like "hello", "how are you", but after a pause, he started talking with me in Mandarin fluently, and he could say anything! I should have gone to that monitoring room to affirm my inference!</div><div>New Orleans is an unbelievalbe city. You can see hotels everywhere. That famous Burbon street has countless bars, and even several places involved with sex service(we believe:-)). The sreet was sleepless, when we left at 1:30am, it was still occupied by crowded people, loud music, dances, beers. In those bars, you don't talk to each other, you yell at each other to communicate! Well, by photoshopping, I mean adjusting contrast, hue, shadow, highlight, etc. I barely add or delete the photo contents.<br /><br />Now Wherever I go I bring along my camera(Olympus FE-340), which only costs ￥1600. Sometimes when you happens to find out a fantastic view or an extremely beautiful scene, it just makes you eager to have an advanced camera to record that moment.<br /><br />Anyway, by my cheap camera, I know what white balance uses for, and what ISO means, but it's kind of hard to apply them properly.
